Title: Cross-laboratory expression analysis: challenges and opportunities

Abstract Thousands of gene expression microarray studies have been collected, at a cost of many millions of dollars (for example, see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/). The full potential usefulness of these data has not been realized, in part due to a lack of tools. I'll discuss ongoing work to develop methods and systems for analyzing large quantities of gene expression data collected from diverse sources, and highlight some of the open questions. Some earlier relevant work can be seen at http://benzer.ubic.ca/tmm/.
