This workshop leverages inspiring stories from talented women in technology to facilitate a discussion around personal inventory of skills, personality and approaches to many of the career issues faced in one's career. Harnessing the power of stories enables us all to be more persuasive, move people to action, and progress into our careers.
This highly interactive, hands-on workshop will:
In this workshop, participants examine techniques, skills, and lessons they can take from a story, as well as brainstorm and discuss how they might approach a similar scenario, learn from the storyteller, and help potential storytellers write their own stories.
The goal is not to just learn a particular technique employed by the storyteller, but to incorporate and leverage principles to match and leverage their own personal styles. A technique that works well for someone very gregarious might be ineffective for someone very shy and reserved. In small groups, workshop participants will explore different approaches, and learn how to read and evaluate someone else's story. The result will be gaining skills and new potential approaches to difficult situations.
